HOW TO PICK THE RIGHT TRAIL RUNNING SHOES FOR YOU | Trail Shoe Buying Guide | Run4Adventure

When it comes to choosing the right trail running shoes for you, obviously it’s a very personal thing. Everybody’s feet are a different shape, every shoe fits differently and as trail runners we all run on different types of terrain and underfoot conditions. I’d always recommend visiting a good running specialist and trying on lots of different brands and models to see what fits your foot shape the best. Unfortunately, this is getting harder and harder to do these days with a lot of the running shops disappearing from the high street. Because of this we’ve put together a handy guide to help you out when it comes to picking the right trail running shoe for your needs, hope you find it helpful!

Thanks for watching, we’ll see you in the next video and as always – stay safe and keep on running!

  1. Just ran a 21km Spartan trail in Altra Olympus 5 and found the shoes way too unstable for the type of terrain we had: technical section, rocky traverse, wooded trails (uphill and downhill) with lots of roots, loose rock, slippery mud, etc. ok on flats section with hard pack surface and even mud pitts with water, mud up to the knees. Will have to find a good compromise. Tks for your video; lots of food for thought.

  2. Sadly, sales person at specialized running stores are not always knowledgeable about brands and the products and running science. I always recommend that they watch your videos.
