Military personnel has known this for years. Youโll hardly ever meet someone who wears their issued โgoretexโ rain jacket when itโs raining hard.
Good info here stuff allot of us know but really puts it all together! I need to watch your other videos! ย
One thing not mentioned is a breathable jack isn’t as warm so you won’t sweat as easy. That said I sweat easy so I usually have my jacket open, particularly on longer sustained walks and use an umbrella as well if I can (and have one with me. Skiing I usually wear so much warm stuff I don’t notice any sweat or the lift ride lets me cool down. Cross Country skiing, I used to wear heavy wool pants and would sacrifice a light top base layer to the rain/sweat in the PNW.
