  1. I can’t stand boots with waterproof membranes such as Gortex. GTX is hot, it makes your feet sweat so your feet end up wet anyway, and anytime you cross a stream or step in puddle, water goes into the boot anyway from the top then it can’t escape because of the membrane and you are walking around in a puddle all day. I can’t believe so many boots come with Gortex, it’s the easiest way to ruin a good pair of boots.

  2. I’m currently searching for breathable boots/mid height hinking shoes and can’t find anything non goretex or waterproof boots it’s crazy!

When i bought my Lowas Z8S GTX (mainly for airsoft at the time) i thought that it would be great to have waterproof boots, but the thing is that it is indeed great… Until it isn’t…

We had a solid downpoor last summer during a match around mid day and the water went through my pants, then slid all the way at the bottom of my boots. I had wet feet until the end of the day because the water that got in couldn’t get out, it was amazing 🙃…

Waterproof/Goretex is great for winter when you walk into the snow or as long as water can’t get into the shoe/boot. Otherwise it’s completely useless

  3. What traditional leather boot without gtx let water out if theres no holes in the boot?
I have regular leather boots and i still need to pour out the water after i cross a stream.
The only problem with gtx is sweat from the feet.
